Hall of Fame Criteria

Objective
To give full recognition to credit union people who have given outstanding service to the Credit Union movement nationally in Canada and/or internationally.

Criteria
Updated criteria will be posted November 24, 2006.

Method
The Awards Committee, consisting of three/four members appointed by the Chairperson of the Board of Credit Union Central of Canada, will select the persons to receive this recognition.

The submissions will be reviewed on an annual basis; however, an award will only be given when the Awards Committee deems that the criteria for this very special recognition have been met to the satisfaction of all members of the Committee.  This will be no more frequent than once a year but may be less frequent if there are no deserving nominees.

The Awards Committee or the Board of Directors of any member credit union or Central may submit deserving nominees by completing the Canadian Central Nomination Form.  The nominee may be a volunteer or professional that is active, retired or deceased.

Recognition
Induction into the Hall of Fame will take place at an appropriate Annual General Meeting of Credit Union Central of Canada where inductees will receive a personal plaque and a like plaque will be placed in the Credit Union System's Hall of Fame.  There will also be recognition of the new Hall of Fame inductees at the Awards Banquet at Canadian Central’s annual conference.

An employee of the System will be eligible to be recognized if it can be shown that this person has volunteered and participated beyond his/her job requirements.  This could be in national or international service beyond the System that employs them.

Housekeeping
The cost of travel to the event for the inductee and his/her spouse/companion is the responsibility of the nominating group.  Meals and lodging in connection with the Annual General Meeting where the induction takes place will be paid for the inductee and guest by Credit Union Central of Canada.
